Beautiful Day in New York City

Spring has finally arrived! Hopefully, that it is. It feels like it has been raining a lot in the past few days, but today was so beautiful. To take advantage of this beautiful day I took a bike ride down by the Hudson River.

View from around canal street
I observed a few things along the way. A front runner is some people do not know how to abide by traffic patterns. Sometimes I must admit that I am a bit oblivious, but I do feel that at most times I have my wits about me when I am riding my bike or running or walking in a lane that supports bikers/rollerbladers. I almost ran into this lady who had headphones on. She saw me coming at her and decided not to change directions and I had to stop two inches from her bike. She gave me a dirty look, but really I think the fault was on her. Another thing I realized, well I sort of already knew this, but seriously I love New York. There are just so many things to do in this great, big city. One of my favorites, is riding my bike around after work when the temperature is a balmy 65 degrees, wind is slowly blowing, and the sunset is going down on the
Hudson River! Folks life does not get much better then this.

Tribeca Film Festival
To help you visualize the pure bliss I encountered I took some pictures. Also, there was the Tribeca Film Festival, which started today (I think). Plenty of people were out to celebrate this great event and what a great day to have it outside. It was sort of annoying though because I had to get off my bike and navigate myself through posh guests and even more security guards. Seriously I think the people to police/security guard ratio was about 5:1 which is sort of unheard of considering the fact that I thought the police force in NYC was shrinking.

The setup was pretty sweet though. They had all these paper lanterns and a big seating area down below and a huge screen in the center. This picture doesn't really do it justice, but take my word for it.

Nestled
Also lately I've been trying to find humor in every day things. And smile, and laugh. I know it super cheesy, but seriously I think it works. I haven't felt negative all day! Here is something to make everyone reading this smile.

First of all, who built this statue? Honestly, what person thought this would be a good idea? Come on people, they are boobs! What is even funnier, is, I don't quite think these boys playing on them realize it. I missed the opportunity to take a shot of both boys straddling these "artistic" objects. However, one is good enough. The parents in the background either don't care, or maybe don't want to have the birds and the bees conversation yet.  Regardless, IT WAS FUNNY. Funny enough to stop and take a picture.

DON'T BUY THIS
I rode all the way down to where the Staten Island ferry is! Which is the farthest south I have gone on a bike so far. I want to eventually make my way over the Brooklyn bridge. This will be a Saturday undertaking though. As I was coming back North I tried to avoid the crowded Tribeca Film Festival area, but unfortunately downtown Manhattan is sort of a cluster f and ended up at a dead end. I reluctantly walked my bike through a handful of Sweds who were attending the festival, and was super pumped that they were giving out Vitamin Water. I love VITAMIN WATER. Seriously, the stuff is good. I have never tried the ZERO (diet) vitamin water. It is aptly named because people, IT SUCKS. ZERO FLAVER. Seriously, don't waste your money. It takes like you are drinking fakeness. I know the regular non-diet is circa 140 calories per bottle, but to be honest, I'll take the calories, THANK YOU VERY MUCH. Just so everyone can stay clear of it, I have included a nice pic.

My body feels great. I just took a nice warm bath, and my muscles feel all worked, and sort of tight. O marvelous day! Going to end on a high note by watching the rest of Minute to Win It and studying FRANCAIS! Bon nuit mes amis!
