I haven't written in quite some time, and I apologize. Classes are going well, and I am officially in the swing of things here at school. I am immersing myself with lots of homework and am taking on a heavy load of credits. I do think that this semester will be a bit hellish but in the end it will all be worth it. I will graduate and I will probably look back at this time and think, how did I get it all done?
I went camping in Asseteque island this past week, which if anyone is curious is on the eastern shore of Maryland. This island was full of wild ponies that wandered around. I was awakened on Friday night not by drunk college kids, but by a persistent neighing in the background. On Saturday a sea turtle was being released from captivity after it had been rescued by the parks department. There were a whole congregation of people watching as the turtle van pulled up and slowly carried the massive turtle out to the surf. He plunged head first and swam into the merciless sea. I hope he or she is enjoying themselves again in the wild. After a successful turtle release, me and my camping friends went canoeing and walked along the beach. It was a beautiful weekend, and a nice retreat from the hordes of work I completed last week.
On Sunday I will be running my 2nd 10k in Alexandria, Virgina. I haven't been running as much as I would like to, so my time might not be as impressive as I want it to be.
That is pretty much all in my life thus far. Eat, class, homework, work, eat, sleep, homework---Work and no play makes Emilie a dull girl.
