June!? WTF

This blog has been a venue for neglegance, and I apologize. Although, at this point I am not entirely sure who is reading my blog; hopefully I have some faithful followers. So if you must know what is going on in the ol' life here is the rundown; I officially graduated from UMD this spring, I am working in DC this summer for Alliance for Climate Protection (minor snafu with previous internship which was also great but things happen), and I have going into Peace Corps sometime in January. The Peace Corps decision was a bit random I must say; however, I have always had it in the back of my mind. The only three things I know about when, where, and what I will be doing are leaving in January, going to Asia, and doing Environmental Education, or what the cool kids call EE. I don't know any more information, so please don't ask me. I am truely and honestly terrified and excited at the same time. I think the 27 month commitment will be an opportunity for me to grow and learn both personally and professionally. It goes without saying that I will miss the comforts of home and the people that are most dear to me, but I figure you'll all be here when I come back. Plus four years of college sort of just flew by, so I can't even imagine how fast 27 months will feel.

In other news I have to get my wisdom teeth removed on Thursday. Like the honest individual I am, I had my dentist put that she recommended I get my teeth extracted before I serve, which in bureaucratic talk translates to NECESSARY. Four teeth at once, with little to no time to recover= pretty miserable few days. Hopefully people will pity me and give me free ice cream and milkshakes. Also I went to Peru with my mom for a week and it was amazing. We were in Lima, Cuzco, and all around Machu Picchu. I have attached some pictures so all can benefit from my experience.

I'll have to start get better about writing. Once I know when and where and what I will be doing for Peace Corps I will be sure to post. Furthermore, I hope to have some excited adventures this summer as they pertain to camping and hiking, so stay tuned for that. This is a new chapter of my life and I couldn't be more excited to voice it.
