Me and Excited Visitor!
Bonjour!I can't believe that today is my last day of work here at Rocky Mountain National Park. Currently I am sitting at the seasonal desk space before I have to do my last shift at the visitors center today. Tomorrow Katie, Jess, Connie and I planned to hike 18 miles from the East Side of the park to the West Side crossing over the Continental Divide. I unfortunately have been feeling very under the weather and don't know if I am going to go. I think my body is just really had it with my constant need to hike and exercise.
On Wednesday me and some friends here in the park went out to Dream Lake after work and jumped into the freezing cold water, which I hypothesize has given me this cold. However, the experience was well worth it. The lake itself is only about 17 feet deep but it was very clear and deserted. It's hard to find such a lake back on the East Coast.
I really cannot believe that this summer has gone so fast! I have had quite a blast here and am really going to miss all the beautiful scenery. The other day on my last tour I was walking to the visitors center at Beaver Meadows and there was a cow elk and its baby about three feet in front of me. I was looking down and was distracted by my thoughts and almost walked into them. I think the Mama was a little pissed off that I disturbed her peace.
Well, that is all I can think about at the moment. O, on Tuesday I spent the day with the Resource Management folks pulling out weeds and planting new grass in Moraine Park. It made me appreciate the cushy-ness of my job (I know I made the word up). I don't have to pull weeds all day, which is certainly fine by me.
Until next time
-ME
P.S I have decided to add a picture of me in my uniform talking to an excited visitor about my extreme awesomness. In actuallity I think she was telling me how good of a job I was doing on my tour.
